Tracking / Overdubbing / Mixing
In addition to our mastering and editing suite Antarctica
offers a full-featured recording studio. (You may view many morel images
of the studio using the Studio Tour button on the left.) The studio consists
of a control room, four isolation rooms, and large recording area. Our
Piano is a Kawai 7'5" grand and has been professionally maintained
by James Arledge since it's purchase in 1986.
At the heart of our recording studio is a large, 24-bit
ProTools system with an expanded ProControl console. The system features
32 tracks with 24 channels of I/O. Processing is provided by a complete
set of TDM plug-ins running on 9 DSP farm cards. Control of the system
is provided by two 20" monitors and the ProContol console in the
main control room. Also installed in the control room is a Soundcraft
DC2000 console with moving fader automation. Two-track formats include
CD (preferred) and DAT. Backup media can be either AIT tape or CDR.
We have a standard variety of microphones with our treasure
being a vintage Telefunken 251 tube mic. Our cue system is the Formula
Sound Cue-8, eight channel active system which allows each musician to
have control over their own headphone mix.
Recording studio clients have access to the main lounge
and kitchen areas which are shared by the mastering /production suite.
The recording studio and the mastering /production suite
are linked by an Ethernet network for easy exchange of audio and data
files.
